Weight versus Happiness | The Moral Revolution -->

Weight versus Happiness

Yes, weight is a horrible issue in a world where looks are the paramount goal of human existence. Your friends nag at you, your relatives make fun of your extra pounds and you are desperate. You might in fact grow up to become a frustrated little bundle and wish you were never born...

Well, yeah! You'll wish you were never born when you lose the altering pounds and realise that being close to knocking on death's door does not make you happy. I promise you: it won't!

Slimming down is the glorified illusion of happiness. Truth be told, when you are completely miserable, you will hold on to anything that offers a glimpse into a brighter future. Don't! What is the use of hanging by a thread only to discover complete and utter misery at the other end?

I'll tell you what you can do, though...

You can start being happy!

While most people are obsessed with the magazine ideal of overly photoshopped celebrities, you are not a celebrity. Sure, you can buy photoshop and make yourself look awesome and live a lie until those so thoughtlessly charmed by your wonderfully perfect figure will discover that... they don't like you because... "damn, girl! I can see a milimeter of extra fat on your hips and you lied to me!"  Maybe they won't even say it... they'll simply not call, never answer your facebook messages and make you feel worthless.

First off, those people up there ... umm, you should avoid them! Whoever is interested in the package will never unwrapp it any further than its pink, ornaments-studded covering. They won't listen to you, they won't care about you, they won't  give you advice when you need it, and, to put it all together, they won't support you. And yes, you might be fifteen and going through a rough time because the other kids suck. You must understand that in a society built on a mountain of crap ( where the crap is usually meant to make/keep others wealthy whilst feeding your insecurities and pumping fuel into your lack of self-respect to the point of nothingness) whatever you do will never be good enough. And that has nothing to do with you.

You see, when photos like the next ones are filed under the tags of "funny fat people eating" you must start asking yourself questions regarding the overall level of sanity of the society you so much acclaim.

Yes, this is a child.

This is another child.

They're not eating but, ah well, I call them as I see them ( well, as I find them on the almighty internet, to be more precise )

Now, most people who have grown up under the flagellum of their weight issues would know the weight of their peers' words. Those who have managed to slay the fatty beast tend to forget said weight.

In the end, what is important is that we all remember that there are things far heavier than what we can put on the scales.

If you want to be happy, be happy. Your happiness must never depend on other people.

Take a look at this:

Learn to love yourself before expecting others to love you. You won't know what true love is like until you accept everything you are. Also, if you are struggling with weight issues, exercise instead of starving yourself. And again, don't do it to impress others. Do it to stay healthy.
